WEX Deal: Free Grip With Panasonic LUMIX G100 Purchase

Canon, Sigma or Tamron 70-200mm lens

9 Feb 2009 11:10PM
I am currently looking to purchase a 70-200mm lens, I have about 500 to spend. I have narrowed my search down to either the Canon 70-200mm F4L USM, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG MACRO HSM II or the Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 Di SP Lens.
I have read good reviews about all three lens and would appreciate any advice from users.
Many Thanks

Canon is the best made, sharpest and best focussing but obviously a stop slower than the others.
Sigma is very good BUT sigmas QC is variable so you will have to cross your fingers that you get a good copy.
Not had any personal experience of the Tamron.

Thanks Sam,
Had more or less made my mind up on the Canon. Jessops had it at 469 when logged on earlier this evening. Just went back for another look and the price has jumped to 559. Beginning to think that perhaps this isn't the best time to buy anything!!.

You can still get them for well below that price
