Maybe its the location of camera info and lay out of camera details which are confusing me, as you all know it seemed so much easier on the 400 d.
Of course not using the camera as much now this time of year hasn`t helped , but i will endeavor to overcome this minor problem , because maybe im not practicing enough.

You'll soon adjust and learn to love the display on the top of the camera.
Another 400D to 40D upgrader here and best camera I've owned to date. Has more features than the 400D and it can take a bit longer to get used to it but I find it a much more intuitive camera to use.
Practice makes perfect. If you're in the North Wales area I'd be happy to spend a bit of time with you to help learn the controls. Otherwise if you're a member of a camera club see if there are any other 40D users who could help you.

i got a 7D and thats jam packed with functions i brought a dvd specifically for the 7d and followed it, got used to all the functions and where they were very quickly from that.
I assume theres a dvd out for the other canons too worth a look, it worked for me.
