Can we expect a few reviews from the folk on this thread that have / are getting one?

Not until tomorrow!

Over the weekend I intend (family mockery permitting) to take pics with my 20D, 40D and 1D.

I will attempt to see if I can really tell the difference between them, image quality wise..

OK, it got to Jessops in a van, but I've had a couple of things damaged in transit now that have had to go back, which when you've got a new toy is a pain.
I was going past the shop yesterday anyway, so it made sense and didn't cost more.

Will do, hopefully I'll get some time over the weekend to give it a good test. I've been booked for another cycle race this sunday and another next week, so will play with the ISO and try to do some landscape, still life & some portraits.

Will somebody do me a test please ?
put a 580 flash gun on after dark, go in to a room with no lights on on one shot and tell me if it can focus using the af assist lights on the flash and how quickly it does it, is it as good as the 20d at rapid dark focus.or as bad as the 1dmkii
Very grateful for any results

I've only got the 550 flash, but I will try to have a go for you over the weekend.

Have got one. Can't use it in RAW because Canon disk was corrupt and Lightroom are slow to update for using RAW facility. The JPEGs look good. Great personal functions now mean that I can go to Mirror Lock Up with in one move. Still think one button for this facility would be easier.

Why not download the latest version of the canon software from its web site.

No need, my 40D and the Lightroom update have arrived within 20 minutes of each other.

Now to get it unpacked and play.

(Oh, and to do some work as well!)
