Anyone had a look at the price of the 1Ds on Warehouse express recently? Just dropped from 5998 to 4799 over the weekend - anyone know why? You might almost say it was tempting at that price!! Wink

My guess is they bought some in fron the Us taking advantage of the exchange rate.....or, are Canon about to announce a new top end camera? (Yes I know about the 1D mkII but I don't class that as top end quality wise - only speed wise!)

Anyone else got any thoughts?

Dave.

It was well over-priced before, they are not selling many so have decided to flog a few cheaper. This is about the price you can find the 1Ds for in mainland Europe. Enjoy the rip-off prices in the UK.

You can buy a 1Ds in the US for 3000.

It is quite aggravating on the one US forum I occasionally look at to see how little they pay for their cameras - all makes and models. And they still moan about the prices!!

Where abouts Carabosse? If you don't want to put it on here you can email it to me from my website (url in profile).....the cheapest I've seen it in US is c4400 after exchange rate taken into account.....

@Rob - is this straight from the "horses mouth" so to speak or just your guess as to why?

CCI Camera City have the 1Ds for $5939 ... approx 3200.

See HERE

As a general rule, I have found, the US pays for cameras in dollars about what we pay in pounds!! :-(

Wonderful! (But it now says $6599 - but that's still only 3500 - the price of the new 1D mkII in the UK!)
I've found the same thing with lenses - i'm gonna have to have a look around CCI to see what their lense prices are like......

Thanks Carabosse Smile

probably because your cache still has the old page. open the page and click refresh. if not, go to prerences and choose the option that forces pages to be downloaded each time you open them instead of using the cached one.

in 'tools' - 'internet options' - temporary internet files -> settings - should says check for new pages every time i visit the page.

if it still isn't working you must be in some cheaper parrallel universe.

I have cleared my cache (temp files, cookies and history) twice now.

The Setting is 'check automatically for new pages'. (I am unable to change that).

It STILL shows $5939.

Clearly I am living in a parallel universe. Oh well, so long as it's cheaper here!! Smile
