Canon EOS Utility Problem

For years, any Canon camera I had, when plugged into the computer would automatically launch whichever Canon Eos Utility was installed at the time. This was how I downloaded my shots on to the computer. Suddenly, for no apparent reason it has now stopped doing this and I have to manually launch the software. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did they solve it and how?

Windows or Mac? Has a setting been changed in either the utility preferences or the OS preferences? Personally I don't use EOS Utility but it is normally a preferences change that alters the behaviour.

Absolutely not. From whst I've seen of it I won't be doing any time soon.

Check your startup to see that Canon EOS Utility is started at boot. If it isn't that's the reason for the change.
