Hi, been a while since i've looked at this end of the market so thought I would ask here for some advice.

Canon Ixus 40 LCD screen broke, my insurance will cover a replacement product at todays value. My question is - what is todays equivalent of the Ixus 40? And what price is it?

My excess is 150, so wondering if its even worth bothering claiming at all.

My Canon S90 also broke yesterday, but thats a no brainer, i'll be claiming on that! Not having much luck with my compacts these days!

139 or 165

Hardly worth claiming for - you could get a faulty camera from ebay, (faulty lens?) and then put the screen on yours. Or you may be able to find the screen on it's own if lucky.

Thanks for the reply. The 115 & 220 do look pretty handy.

Just checked online for cost of S90: 215 on Amazon... hardly worth claiming either! Would save only 65 when you factor in the excess! Might see about getting it repaired instead - the problem is the lens, it was dropped while it was extended and it was knocked out of line, so it wont retract anymore. Might be fixable.

Can anyone recommend a good camera repaid shop in Edinburgh?

Cheers
Brad
