16 Dec 2017 4:25PM
Hi !
I have a Canon 6d and lenses Canon 24-70f2.8 LII ..70-300 L and Sigma 85mm art
The Sony A7RIII intrigues me a lot
I'm passionate and I wanted to know if it's worth going to Sony
Thank you

Depends what you shoot and how you process. The Sony sensor in that camera is gorgeous. It has very little noise at ISO levels where other cameras struggle to produce a clean image. The dynamic range is also superb, it's mind-blowing, it's almost like having HDR built in. Video quality is very impressive too.

If you want the option of cropping heavily then the 42 MP can come in handy.

Hi Leonardo,
Just now Sony sounds great does it not; can you hire a Sony + one good lens for a weekend and try it out before committing to a system shift. Let us know what you find.

Cheers,
Stuart

As Chris L says it can depend on what you shoot, and whilst you can use your lenses on a Sony body would any of the newer canon bodies provide the upgrade you seem to be looking for

Additional things to consider are the Sony interface and menus, they are quite different, the feel of the camera in your hand is also important, so do have a fondle first, and if you mainly process using canons DPP, make sure you are happy using another processing system first as Sony raws will not work with DPP
