It reads to me that you have the choice of either windows activation or mac activation, not both.

I think you will find the software license is for two you to install two copies of the software (not sure if they have to be same o/s). This is to allow you to have a desktop and laptop or a office desktop and home desktop. There are not two licenses so strictly speaking you should not give one away. Mind you if your friend came back to you for the upgrade or support who would know.

C1 LE is a single platform license, Pro is cross platform.

Quote from Phase one License agreement:

2.3 Single User License.
This License is for one person to use, provided that you have obtained from Phase One a Single User License Number. The Single User License can only be used on one computer at a time. However, it may be installed on up to 2 computers.
