Anyone know of a 12v battery charger, to use in the car, for Nikon EN-EL3 batteries? I know Nikon make one themselves (MH-19 Multi-Charger) but it's a ridiculous price - 175.07 at Dabs.

Ignore the above, I've just answered my own question. If anyone else is interested Uniross make a universal charger which will charge these batteries, available from batterylogic at 29.99.

Incidentally, apparently the Nikon charger doesn't include the cable for the car cigarette lighter which, according to someone selling on eBay, costs another 90.00. So a Nikon kit will cost 265.07 whereas Uniross can do the same job for 29.99. hmmm... two words spring to mind here - 'rip' and 'off'.

I bought an inverter for converting 12v to mains voltage so I can use all my chargers in the car. Cost about 25.

Hi Barney
I`m doing my head in here why you want to step the voltage up just to step it down again. Also I didn`t know chargers were like canary`s going cheep Smile
