Hi, we’re currently looking at the possibility of putting up a carport. It would be freestanding not against the house.

I wonder if anyone here has one and could say whether or not it stops frost forming on cars overnight. This is one of the main driving forces behind the idea so if it won’t we may not pursue it any further.

Many thanks.

Yes a carport would reduce the amount of frost on your car as rain and water vapours would be reduced.
Don't scrimp on the roof because a poor perspex roof will rattle and keep you up at night

Many thanks Steve. Good tip regarding the roof!
