i have a new nikon d70s, and a nikon zoom-nikkor 70-300mm f/4-f/5.6G lens that came with the camera, would a ex sigma apo tele converter x2 af, be compatable. i dont want to spend money for it if it's not compatable.thanks to anyone that can help me.

In all honesty, using a teleconverter (especially a x2 model) with a consumer lens, such as the one you have is not a particularly good idea.

For one thing, the image quality is likely to suffer big time, and for another, at the long end (which is presumably where you'd be employing the combo) the maximum aperture would be reduced to a ludicrous f/11. The AF on your camera will not work below a max aperture of f/5.6 anyway.

Save your money for something like a Sigma 50-500mm, or a 300mm/4 prime lens + x1.4 TC if you really need that kind of reach.
