Photo Books ?

Many of us, at some point, consider having our best or chosen photographs printed in book form, simply as a lasting printed record of your best, or, as a gift; or even to sell. There are three main routes to achieve your aim....Use Word or other Office software to create the book and then use your own printer and DIY binding....very time consuming unless you enjoy that kind of thing.

Next (as I did for my first photo book ) download the BLURB book dedicated software, then let them print a very beautiful book, or books.....First class service and results, but expensive.

My newly learned method...

I use an iPad Pro, the BOOK CREATOR app I used is available on Windows 10 as well as iOS ...it is used in schools .....the templates are basic but adequate, the book building is dead easy....just watch margins. When you are happy with your creation, save it as a pdf document. YouTube videos available.

Next, acquire the PDF EXPERT app or similar...to check how your book works...it can also be checked in iOS ..My Books, as a working E-Book....

My next step was rather off piste but it works.... I discovered BOOK PRINTING UK...who are very happy to receive your pdf book to assess for professional printing and binding....after a little hitch between software’s a solution was found; and an order for three paperback 68 page 164 photograph books was made.
Four days later a beautiful bound proof copy arrived fir final editing/adjustment etc.....all agreeed ...order placed....delivery due within 14 working days.

The result? Three beautiful A4 Landscape format books plus the proof, for under £90 ....Customer service and turn-around can’t be faulted...I am delighted. I must emphasise here that I am nothing but a satisfied customer of a very efficient printing company....Please look them up.

Hope this is ok. Mods ? Hope so.

Thanks for this.

I do the occasional photobook andI'm always interested in different ways.

I'm happy to create page layouts in either photo (Affinity) or DTP software (PagePlus but soon to be Afinity Publisher) to create pdfs so the addition of Book Printing is a welcome addition to pinting providers.

Ditto.

Never thought of going down the route you have described. ....... usually turn to Photobox but will give this method a trial.
