I am asking this on behalf of my mate who has a D3 and D300.
What he wants to know is, is there an LCD protector similar to the one on the D300 available for the D3?
If not, what do you Nikon owners use, if anything, to protect your screen?

I believe " Hoodman " make one for the D3 & D3x, It snaps into place like the D300 and D700 standard items.

Here they are at W/E...Smile

D3 does not come with lcd protector. Glass is tempered and very resistant to marking. That said many plastic covers are available, at low cost. Try any good camera store or just look on-line.

Thanks folks. I will pass this on.

I suppose if he paid 3K for the camera, he's not going to miss 25 for the Hoodman protector.

You don't really need one, the glass is toughened and min remains unmarked after a couple of years of use.

The one Vince linked to looks quite good though, better than the stick on pieces of clear plastic. Certainly don't bother with those, any condensation gets under them and they just peel off.

My D3 has seen 2 hard trips to Texas and 3 weeks on safari in Africa - with no mark on the rear screen.
I agree protection is important for the D300 or 300s.
