Quote:Surprising ...

Why ?

Probably happens to Editors across all magazines after they have had the job for a while.

He's been there a long time and people move on to other and often better things. AP will carry on as usual which is good news and Damien will no doubt still make a huge contribution to photography by taking his skills elsewhere. I wish him best of luck.

They normally just switch to the next magazine, in fact most of them play musical magazines a lot.

@warrenchrismas Thanks Warren. Onwards and upwards - or something. Things will work out I'm sure. Cheers.

He's been made redundant.

IPC Media own What Digital Camera and Amateur Photographer and they have decided to consolidate the editorial staff of both magazines under one editor - and they have chosen the editor of What Digital Camera to be that editor.

I spent a day with Damien back in October (I won an AP Landscape Competition) and I have to say that he was a thoroughly great bloke and really knows his stuff about photography plus he really helped me to get some great pictures on the day. I'm sad to see him go and I hope that he moves on to bigger and better things.
