A rushed shot! Everyone was a tad over protective of Mr Benet! 50mm 1/1400sec iso 400 @f/2.8

This was the first image I took with my Nikon 50mm 1.4D lens. Taken at F1.4.

It was also the first image I upload to the site! Large image can be seen here which shows the bluring a lot more!

A recent effort with my new (to me) camera. One of only very few that I've shot in Jpeg. since I got it.

Portrait of a dead bird. Not a very cheerful subject, but I thought the bird was beautiful, despite being dead.

My 6 year old Daughter with Hello Kitty Facepaint, taken at 90mm focal length with f/4 aperture. The background is thrown out of focus by the shallow depth of field that f/4 allows. Distance from the subject plays a part in how much blur you get too, as does distance of background from subject. Here the background was approx 40-50meters away.

Not sure if this one counts.

I used my 7D and a (homemade) reflector on the flash to avoid harsh shadows, and here is the result.
