Not a brilliant shot but after seeing Anna's pic it made me look back in my neg files and find this one taken on almost the same day of the year 8 October, but way back in 1979. City Hall Sheffield. They'd just started...and were supporting Gary Numan. At that time Winston, the four track tape recorder, was the third member (He's on the right) . It was my first go at gig photography. I had a lot to learn!

And here's a shot a few months later of Peter Gabriel.

I now had the knowledge to get close, and I thought flash was the answer, but I hadn't worked out ratios. This is using a Vivitar 283 flash on auto taken with an Olympus OM1 and a Vivitar 70-150mm zoom. Fastest you could go was ISO400 without getting bad grain and we didn't have web sites in those days to help! So it was all self teaching, and no digital to check to see if the exposure was good. How lucky you are these days Wink
