Lanersoct Abbey, Hadrians Wall.

This image was taken at Lanercost priory close to Hadrians Wall. Originally built by Robert de Vaux in 1169.

One of the loveliest medieval sites around, Lanercost Priory was built for the Augustinian monks who were also responsible for the construction of Hexham Abbey. It is still a living active church where music festivals are regularly held. Spectacularly located on the bend in the meandering Irthing river, the Irthing valley side dips down to level out in a flat placid, green valley of great beauty.

Truong Son National Cemetery
A Vietnamese cemetery is eight miles north of Dong Ha on the southern side of the Ben Hai River.

It is the final resting place of tens of thousands of NVA (Northern Vietnam Army) soldiers and other military personnel killed in and around the Truong Son Mountains during the war with America. There are many other such cemeteries in Vietnam.
