Delay - Sony HX300

as you probably know i have a delay problem between taking one picture and taking the next. This delay is 5 to 6 seconds.
the first half of this delay time is black screen the latter half of the delay is the camera showing me a copy of the picture i have just taken.
my camera is sony hx300 is there any way of stopping the camera automatically showing me the image i have just taken ?

What rninov has said will help to reduce the time the camera takes to focus. There are some useful tips in the answers to a similar question here

It is one of the drawbacks of Bridge cameras, but the drawbacks are often balanced out by the ease with which you can take images from macro to long distance landscapes. And of course not having to change lenses.

Quote:would anyone be kind and tell me how to upload to the critique gallery
On your home page here you will have a blue Upload button. Upload a photo to the Gallery but when you do so, read down through the various options and tick the Critique wanted box.
Upload a jpeg file straight out of the camera. Above all, don't use Save for web, which wipes the Exif data from the file.

The only way, as far as I have read, to overcome this delay is to press the shutter button half way. According to what I have read on the web there is no way to disable the preview but pressing the shutter halfway stops the camera from spending its resources on the preview and the next photo can be taken. I think this could well be something which you will get used to in time. Others have also found this difficult but all in all it seems that the camera takes excellent images. Don't let this delay spoil your enjoyment and experiments with the camera.

You can probably find out by looking at the RX10 Manual on line - Google RX10 Manual.
