Dual WiFi Option possible?
Hi, I use two options (1) Pad for indoors (2) Phone outdoors. Both are Android systems and I cannot get them to both work from the same security log on number generated when setting up the Camera WiFi, is this normal as my home internet just uses the one password to connect multiple computers via WiFi and I assumed that WiFi is the same on any system? As far as I understand this, the Wifi system has its own unique password no matter who provides your Wifi. This is unique to your home Wifi. When I have friends or family visiting they have to use my Wifi password to access the internet in my home. Similarly I have to use their password when using the internet in their homes. The password is NOT the numbers attached to your Wifi setting but would have been set when the Wifi system was installed.
If you are using Windows 10 try this procedure
Press the Windows key and R, type ncpa.cpl and press Enter.
Right click on the wireless network adaptor and select Status.
Click the Wireless Properties button.
In the Properties dialog that appears, move to the Security tab.
Click the Show characters check box, and the network password will be revealed.

If I am understanding this you are trying to connect your two devices to your camera via WiFi, if that is the case why not use a single device? I use an android tablet to control mine and haven't attempted to connect a second device will have a look and see if I can connect to my phone (also android) at the same time but I believe you can only connect to one device at a time.
Hi, Yes Philh from what I have dug up it seems you can only connect one system with the one pass code.I'm not looking to use two devices at the one time. Reason I use a tablet and a phone is portability, phone a lot easier to work with outside than my 10" tablet. Thankyou for the replies. Russ.
Normal wifi allows multiple connects.
However perhaps the camera it's self is only allowing one device to be the main controller of it's function. I'd be looking at the camera manual for the answer.
Perhaps there is also another monitoring URL address so that the other device can use to see the camera image.

Logically you should be able to connect phones and tablets galore to your camera's Wi-Fi but not necessarily at the same time. It wouldn't make any sense if the camera only remembered the first ever phone you had and when you got a new phone you were out of luck.
I would expect by connecting then disconnecting one phone I could then go on to connect another device. Hopefully each device would remember my camera's WiFi Password. That's been my experience with Panasonic and Sony cameras.
There are some complications when you involve your home WiFi and your home router. Both camera and tablet connect to the router which routes the signal between the two devices. Bit like WiFi printers which let yoy connect over the home network or directly.
Then there's the ways of swapping credentials so that owners not strangers connect to cameras. This can be done with NFC (where devices are put together closely) barcodes (either printed on a camera label or displayed on a screen) or keys (WiFi passwords) displayed on the screen.
Are you able to say more about your setup and how you got it to work with one device?

Just re-read the thread and saw something I missed before. It sounds as if the camera bonds with the first device, a bit like a chick imprinting a parent bird! The second device you can't connect, have you ever got it to connect to your camera? There must be a way to get the camera to forget first device then imprint second?
Hi, I have been at this for a while and come to the conclusion you need a differant code from the camera for each device you want it to see, I have now managed to do this but as can be seen the downside is you have to try and remember two codes as when you try to connect to either pad or phone it asks for the code so I just saved the codes on each as a note. of course you can stick on a piece of paper attached to the back of the phone/pad then find it's fallen off when you need it
