Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Mr. Alfred Tas, a solicitor at law. I am the personal attorney to late Mr. Pitt who used to work with a Multinational Company.

On the 21st of April 2002, my client, his wife and their only daughter were involved in a car accident on which all the occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost there lives.

Since then I have made several enquiries to your embassy here to locate any of my clients extended relatives and this has also proved unsuccessful. After several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to contact you. I am contacting you to assist in repatriating some fund valued at US$3.5million left behind by my client before it gets confiscated or declared unserviceable by the holding bank where this huge amount were deposited.

The said BANK has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have the account confiscated within the next fourteen official working days. For the fact that I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over 2 years now, I seek the consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased, so that the proceeds of this account can be paid to you.

Therefore, on receipt of your positive response, then we will discuss the sharing ratio and modalities of the transfer. I have all necessary information and legal rights needed to back you up the claim. All I require from you is your honest cooperation to enable us see this transaction through.

I guarantee that this will be executed under legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. Please get in touch with me through this email address.

Best regards,

Alfred Tas.

This was in my in box this morning, obviously some kind of con.Anyone else had one?
Janet

Not yet, my spam seems to be mainly of the 'You have been sent a postcard' variety at the moment.

My phishing/spam filter as run by my ISP is constantly advising me that an email has been received from a "post card" source but that it has been quarantined because it contains a phishing worm. I assume this is true and have left the messages in the quaratine safe. I pass this on so other members may be warned and the usual rules apply. NEVER open an attachment or link unless you are 150% certain of the source.

Regularly, also the one from a lady dying from cancer, who lost her husband a few weeks ago (accident/cancer) who also has a disabled/sick son and is desperate because she can't afford the doctors fees, but her husband was rich and had his money invested......yardi yardi ya!

AND the ones that tell me I've won thousands in the international lottery - all I have to do is sent my bank details and they'll transfer the money!

AND the ones that tell me there's a problem with my Paypal (or other bank) account, please sent all my details so they can put me back on their records............the fact I don't and never have had a Paypal account!!!!

So the filter you have to stop you receiving spam sends you as many emails to tell you that you have received spam! There's something a little sad about that. Smile

No, my spam filter filters all spam and does not forward it to my Outlook inbox. It only informs me if an email not recognised as spam contains a worm or virus. I have an extremely good ISP.
