With my EOS 60D, is it possible to take 5 bracketed shots using the high speed drive when not in creative zone settings, i.e.manual? I know I can take 3 shots but thought about 5 to get greater range of tones for possible HDR.

I've only been able to take 3 in a pre selected bracked set, ( though manually i've once taken 11 shots just for the hell of it - fix focus, aperture etc and just adjust shutter speed).

No - you can only take 3 bracketed shots. What you can do is use the exposore compensation wheel to take 2 sets in quick succession: for example bracket 3 shots around -1EV, then quickly spin the compensation wheel to fire another three bracketed around +1 EV. If you bracket at 1EV inervals you would get -2, -1, 0 then 0, +1, +2

Moikehit is correct, only three bracketed shots can be taken, then if you want to take more, you manually change the exposure bracketing by moving the scroll wheel.
