Epson XP-970 questions

New to forum...was searching for info on xp-970 but search brought up nothing.
Are there users here familiar with this printer?
Firstly looking to ensure I can disable update of firmware to ensure CIS will work. now & in future
Also looking for profiles. I'm looking for people with experience in using this printer for
semipro printing-with CIS on Epson paper.

I hadn't responded as I don't have the relevant knowledge.
My printing techniques are not what is considered "Best Practise" as some years ago I tested my market with prints using SRGB from camera to printer with "canned" profiles that came with my printers and found that it made absolutely no difference to my sales, I still continued to win club competitions and the odd gold medal in open comps and saved a lot of reprinting when I got bad results from my ****-ups printing the "correct" way (so profit went up
)
The link that Josh provided sums up my thoughts on this little printer, which continues to do the job I got it for without missing a beat
