I've got 12 of my forest images on show at the Leydon Gallery in London between 23rd October and 16 November. Feel free to pop in and have a browse if your in the vicinity of Spittalfields during this time. I'll be there for the start of the exhibit. (Too long a commute to do it on a daily basis and London aint exactly cheap for hotels) Wink

Hi. A very impressive display. I felt as if I was in the forest with you. I would be interested to know how you achieved the very light graphic effect in the background of some of the images. Very interesting.

thanks. If its the images I'm thinking of, the effect is down to the image being taken at twightlight, exposed for the foreground trees. The weather was low cloud and smir, the texture comes from the silver birches in the background. The images were heavily sharpened to bring out the texture. So the it picks out the edges of the silver birches, shrouded in the low cloud and rain. The matt textured paper used during the print will add to this effect.

Hope this helps

Thanks Stuart. It's a very interesting effect and now you mention silver birches I can see where you're coming from.

what a cracking space to hang your work Stuart, it looks a pretty esoteric mix of work too, well done

Just missed you on the opening day. Excellent set. So much depth you can almost wander into the forest.
