This one is all Suzi's fault!
What was the first record you ever bought? Mine was 'My friend Stan' by Slade.

This is bringing back memories. Think I still have the Frankie Goes to Hollywood single somewhere, the one that got banned, cant imagine a record being banned now!

Ruby Murray - I was nuts on her in my teens - 'Let Me Go, Lover'. I bought all of her records as they were published and played them repeatedly on my home built amplifier.

Pair of 6V6s in Class A push-pull, negative feedback from LS output to 1st stage i/p grid. 10" Stentorian cambric cone loudspeaker in ported cabinet...........

Drove my parents nuts!

However, time brings its own retribution!!!!

Teenagers!!! And amps got bigger!

Oliver's Army by Elvis Costello - played it about 500 times in a row because I had nothing else - still love it.

Oh dear, I'm going to be completely out on a limb here - how very unusual eh?!!! ;o)

My first purchased bit of music was a cassette of extracts from classical works!! The quality was shocking and I played it on my Hitachi mono radio/cassette recorder. Which chewed tapes.
