flash

can any one help on this matter when flash is put on to a Nikon d300 and when i press the shutter button to fire flash there is a short delay before flash fires

Possibly on second curtain sync.

is the second curtain on the flash or camera settings

Press and hold the Flash button under the pop up flash release button and observe the top LCD screen. The flash symbol should be at the right edge of the rectangle for normal front curtain synch.

Forgot to add, if it's not correct it can be set using the rear command wheel whilst holding the flash button down. As turning the wheel toggles through the various options, any mode can be set in this way.

I am looking to buy a flash for a canon 1100D, the one I am looking at is the Yongnuo YN560 II Electronic Flash/Flashgun.
do I need anything else with that.
