Many thanks

430ex should suit your needs
at a wedding i would avoid using flash though unless bounced or via strobist method (off camera) in which case i would use about 3, one via softbox, one via umberella and i would decide on placement on the third depending on the area of the shots being taken and lighting already there and also indoors or outdoors

if you have the canon 50mm f/1.8 use that without flash and shoot in raw so you can adjust white balance and whatnot to suit the photo

The 430 is the best value for money [try ebay etc]. I got the jessops 300afd as a package with my 400d - probally worth the 50 it cost me, but not the 100 it normally goes for - too yellowey.

There are others I've never tried - but are cheaper canon 220EX , Sigma EF500 , I sure if you look around there are places cheaper than Jessops. The Sigma one sounds a lot like the 430EX, only cheaper [and kerso has the 430 for 172 inc p&p]

look up a better bounce card - I think - it will help no end with bouncing flash.

I agree for one flash, you just need a simple one.
