Fliplock V/S Twistlock

A twistlock carbon fibre one I used in the past [reputable not-cheap well known make] was binned after a few years because the conical shims inside kept breaking up. When I asked for replacements the UK distributor had run out of stock quickly and, because it had been discontinued as a model, they wouldn't be making any more.

Not a happy bunny Sad

Fliplock all the way - at least they're adjustable and replaceable

Twistlock for me.

Not used fliplocks since I replaced my first tripod, a Slik, with a Benbo circa 1985 and various Gitzo's since circa 1995.

Never used a twistlock before, but always though they were better.

I'll contine with fliplocks with my next tripod after reading this
