Can't be that. I haven't seen any begging bowl articles on the BBC news site lately - you know the sort, "we need £300K by the end of the month else it'll never fly again".

Not the case the case they are loosing out on good funding for the 5 displays they would have flown this week end

Quote from Vulcan to the sky

Quote:Edmondson says the charity can pay for the repairs from its contingency budget, but that the loss of revenue from the missed airshows may have to be made-up from fundraising. “It costs around £2 million a year to fly XH558 to the world’s highest safety standards and we receive no funding from Government or the RAF,” he says. “The income from these shows was an important part of our revenue and it will be missed.”

A magnificent aircraft which I was lucky enough to work on in the early 60's . The only surviving flying example, they need all the help, assistance and funding they can get to keep this icon of British aeronautical workmanship in the air.

I saw the Vulcan last year at Waddington and it's very impressive. We'd been disappointed a few times in the past when it had to cancel at the last minute, due to lack of funding and proper paperwork so it was really great to finally see it last year.

I hope that they can keep it flying.

What a shame, I love the noise it makes Smile

Still, it does look as if the weather may be a little better this time. Do you remember last year Matt, with the commentator sying "Well, I can hear the Blades, they are out there somewhere but they can't find us, nor can they see the airport"

I plan to be up on the Southbourne cliffs tomorrow for a while then try for the spot behind the VIP centre on the Saturday (we are "Puppy Sitting" which is restricting us a bit this year)

The Vulcan has a leak in one of it's fuel tanks, which has sadly meant a no fly at Bournemouth.
I don't think it anything to with funding - just they can fix it in time.
