Not a brilliant shot by any means, but what a car.
Designed, built and powered by Ford to break the European domination of the Le Mans in the late 60s'.
Thought it was a replica at first, but no...

Forty inches tall and goes like a rocket.
My favourite sports car would always be the Gulf liveried Porsche 917K (Siffert and Rodriguez) but this is a nice car and a real icon.

My absolute favourite as a yoof and still love 'em..Wink

Saw one at a petrol pump a few weeks ago, sounded like a bag of spanners as it chortled at tickover..but when he drove away, it cleared its throat and just launched..probably the only time I've been rooted to the spot, deliberately watching a car go by...Grin

Jeremy Clarkson bought one, as I recall.

The one Jeremy Clarkson gave back was a GT not GT40. The GT40 are worth millions now.

That was a GT, a 2005/6 model inspired by the GT40 but bigger. TBH I doubt he'd have managed to squeeze into a real GT40, it's rather a small car and he's by no means a small chap.
He had so much trouble with it he returned it for a full refund. For some reason he then bought it back again but later sold it to make way for a Gallardo Spyder.
