Fuji S5 Pro - To keep or not to keep

Hi all and hello,

This question may sound a little ungrateful so apologies in advance...

I have been fortunate enough to win a Fuji S5 Pro, Sigma 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses (not sure of the full specs yet), Metz flashgun and a case to put it all in.

My question is would you keep the S5 Pro or trade it in for a Nikon thus being able to keep the flashgun and lenses or try and trade the lot for something else.

I'm new to digital photography, this would be my first dslr but do have a basic knowledge with 35mm slrs. I generally take shots of animals and some landscapes. I've read a few reviews and I'm not sure whether to give the camera a go or keep it all boxed nice and try and trade it in.

Thanks
Gez

Totally agree - a great camera so long as speed or action shots are not required.

Are you selling it as new or used?
If it is new, sell it and buy Nikon if thats what you want.
If it is used, then maybe just keep it.

Don't buy a D300 tho ... its a big learning curve if you are not used to DSLR's.

The S5 is now widely available for under 500 , which is Nikon D80 territory. The S5 is based on the higher quality D200 body, and has an excellent sensor which can keep highlights in check more readily. I reckon I'd be keeping the Fuji for a year or 2 as the market is still moving relatively quickly.

Thanks guys, think I'll keep it and give it a whirl. What do I want for free lol...
