Quote: This little beauty turn up about 5:30am today.

Leaving the back door open in this hot weather is not such a good idea though.

My robin has followed me into the kitchen then through to the dining room but will NOT then follow me back out again Sad

Just a bee. Got my old Tamron 18-270mm out for a run as I haven't used it for years. It wasn't too bad. Good for an emergency garden lens.

Well with only 5 garden bins empties left this year I've had to start cutting things back for the end of season.

1st wheely bin full of Hydrangea cuttings.

Autumn seems to have come early to just one branch of our cherry tree. Does this mean that the branch is about to die off? It is very long and we have to keep it tied up to the trunk with rope.

The cherry tree branch might have come away from the trunk a bit so is dying. Having said that my plum tree goes into autumn mode in August, the moment the plums are ripe

The roses have gone quiet but the caryopteris is flourishing and the bees seem to love this plant. Smile

Have just seen a bee feeding on the still-flowering fuchsia. It must be a bit lonely this time of year.

Thought there was a distinct absence of birds around the feeding stations today - not even the damn Pigeons.

Then the Sparrowhawk appeared and sat atop the bird table having chased a Blackbird between the house and next door (the Blacky made it safely into the conifers).

Lovely looking hawk, a quick look around then off it went.

Usually all we find is a ring of feathers on the lawn, 1st time in years I've seen the hawk itself.

An old log and some fungi. Never seen any like this before.

Totally confused here in Houston - the local holly bushes are full of berries - a sign of a hard winter? And yet, my little peach tree has a couple of blossom. Climate change perhaps?60256_1576982327.jpg

I wondered why there were no birds around the feeders this morning. This sparrowhawk sat around looking for about ten minutes before flying off. Unfortunately, just as I looked down it flew, so I never saw the beautiful open wings.

Is it spring already, or did winter never arrive?. Amazed at seeing flowers coming out already.
