Gerda Taro

27 Sep 2007 6:22AM
Good Morning everyone,

I hope your all well, as for me whatever has possessed me to get up at six o clock and post on a forum is beyond me, still I started so I'll finnish. ( I bet you all thought Magnus Magnuson was in the building then)

Ok I'll get back to what I was meaning to say, or rather ask.

Gerda Taro. The photo journalist that who's own work was often ovreshaddowed by that of Robert Capa, does anyone know where I can find more of her work as even when I am doing searches on her I am never exactly sure which is hers and which is Capa's. I am just reading his biography now and am amazed at the dangers himself and Taro put themselves through.

If anyone can help me source any more of her work I'd be very grateful.

Thank you

Try the above link to the New York Times. There is an exhibition at the International Centre of Photography

Thank you guys, I had been lucky enough to see the slideshow, the only other thing I have found is just one book that was actually published this years

Thank you both, Mike I actually got all excited when I saw there was an exhibition on until I saw it was in New York and at the moment I can't even get to Newcastle, still it's good to dream. Incidentally can you remember the name of the person who was Audrey Hepburns choice of photogrpaher, I wouldn't feel so bad if I hadn't been to his exhibition back in June.
