Anybody got a Gorilla Pod suitable for a Canon EOS 60D camera - I think 3K weight is the one I need?

Had one, sold it, not up to the job with my DSLR

Ditto - too wobbly under any weight.

Try a bean bag - easier and sturdier

Bought one of these;

Not cheap but light to carry and very capable.
There are lots of other table top type tripods out there as well.

Thanks for the advice - I thought on would be good for tricky places on grass verges etc and for macro work at home.

A goriillapod is a useful tool to have in the bag; you can tie your camera to branches and railings in a way that a bean bag is not so good at; I have the most robust model with a small ball head. It can double up as a mini-tripod; it is useful for travel ... whenever that may be ...!

i used one to make a video that I borrowed from a student, it worked well, was a little stiff to operate which gave a mixture of confidence in its strength but lacking in confidence that I pulled one of the connections apart trying to latch it onto something for the video, It went back together easily through. The bigger ones certainly can handle the weight of an average dSLR in my opinion.

I have the Gorillapod SLR Zoom with a ball head and it works fine; it's not designed to replace a normal tripod and, as long as you recognise that, it's good at what it does.

I agree with PRC, the Gorillapod Zoom is the one to have as it can support the weight foe DSLR and a reasonable size lens.
My Gorillapod goes with me on all holidays & travel due to its size and compactness. Many occasions I have used the Gorillapod in side cathedrals / Dumo's !
