Graduated filters

I've just bought some grey graduated filters. My question is, when using them do I expose as normal (trusting my EOS to get it right) or do I take a reading without the filter and use that ?

This depends on the effect you are after and where you take an exposure reading from. I always find the best method is to take a reading without the filter and then slide it over just before you take the shot. This ensures that the darker graduated section of the filter really has an affect on the sky. Otherwise the meter would compensate for the filter reducing its darkening capability, which I assume is the reason why you bought the filter.

Thanks Peter, that's what I assumed. I am trying to take my photography from the "shoot a crap photo and work on it for hours in Photoshop" to "shoot a good photo" so need all the help I can get !!!

While we're on the subject of name calling, I've long been under the impression that AndyTVcams is well endowed.
This came about when I overheard two people on an ePz meet where the members of Northscape were present. The conversation went like this:

"So who is this Northscape team?"

"Over there, there's AndyTVcams with the big pr*ck..."

There comes a time in every child's life when they turn on their parents.....true, in Boyd it's been a long time happening, but it's good to see that puberty has finally arrived.
