Happy Christmas
My local pub sadly now closed however to put our own issues into some kind of context:
Christmas Day 1914 was the historical Christmas Day truce when opposing sides climbed out of their trenches, observed an unofficial ceasefire and played games, exchanged presents and pleasantries much to the fury of their respective High Commands; the fraternising troops underlined the total futility of war; WW1 didn't just ruin Christmas it terminated around 875,000 British and Empire young lives.
Lets hope that 2021 gradually evolves and improves as we get back to some kind of normality putting a dreadful year behind us but hopefully remembering some of the lessons that it has taught us.
