Have I bought the wrong lens?

Hi guys
I recently bought an Olympus OM-D EM-5 camera body. I also purchased, separately, an Olympus 14-42 1:3.5-5.6 ED lens thinking they were compatible.!!!
The lens has just arrived but I can't attach it to the camera (seems too big). Thinking I have bought the wrong lens...should it have been an EZ?
I have searched the Olympus compatability tables but can't make head nor tail...
Can anyone help, please?
thanks
Jeff

There are two 14-42 Olympus lenses.....A) "Zuiko"...& B) "M.Zuiko".......as I understand it the "M" designation is for the EM5 !!
Have a look on the EPZ reviews under 'Interchangeable Lenses' > 'Olympus' > scroll down to the 14-42 lenses & check them out........both
lenses are reviewed & show the relative designations & what fits what..........
If your lens hasn't got the "M" prefix then it looks to be the wrong one ???????

Ok thanks...couldn't make head nor tail of the Olympus compatibility charts, but will have a look at the EPZ reviews

Quote:OK, as Fred has indicated, you have got a lens with the wrong mount. You can either return it (if you can) or buy a mount adaptor to use it on the E-M5.
Thanks...I will probably try and re-sell it (wasn't very expensive)...have read somewhere that the adapters affect some of the functions...would prefer a clean start
