Anyone got a wiring diagram to make a power pack for a Vivitar 283? I want to photograph a swallow's nest so flash off camera about ten feet away.
I know (I think) I need a motor cycle battery 6v 4.5 amp, 7 amp fuse but that's about it.

Thanx Gazza, I know it would work but once I am in the hide I don't want to come out to change batteries and a 6volt scooter battery is perfect for the job.
Many many years ago without any electrical knowledge whatsoever I simply bought any old 6 volt scooter/motorcycle battery, any old wires long enough to reach the nest from the hide and simply clapped it altogether. How on earth I got away with that I do not know!
It must have been just by chance that all components were compatible.
Now I know it is not as simple as that (unless you are lucky) and so a similar 6 volt set-up is what I want. Correct wire, correct fuse (there's a novelty) correct voltage, amps etc.

Godox were making power packs, don`t know if they still are, they were quite good and not too pricey.
