anybody out there know the settings to enable the sending of photos on text messages on samsung phone have had a look on settings but cant see way to send a picture.thanks

This may have more to do with which phone company you use rather than make of Android phone. Try Googling your phone company with the question. But it will only work if you have enabled MMS on your phone - found under Apps.

If you try logging on to your account associated with your network provider then you may have an option to get the settings sent to your phone which should auto install when the message is opened.

Yes, WhatsApp is far more useful. You can send photos and videos. You can also have audio and video calls with people located anywhere in the world - for free.

I recently had some 3-way video calls with relatives who live in Canada and Spain. Didn't cost any of us a penny on WhatsApp.
