How to permanently hide all challenge topics?
There is no blanket solution - ie. hide the whole 'Challenges' category - so you will need to click the 'Hide Topic' button above the first post in every thread you want to hide.

That's what I do. Doesn't take a second. I hide lots of topics that I'm not interested in.

Thanks for your reply, but will the topic return say next week for a weekly challenge?
Apologies - I have given you wrong info - it is possible to hide a whole category.
On the Forums Recent Activity page click on the Browse button then Manage Forums. Choose The Challenges from the list that appears. Hit Save Changes are you are done!

Am I right in thinking there is no way to filter what appears in the 'Latest Forum Topics' box on the home page? I've hidden a few categories as described above, but they still appear in that box.

As far as I am aware, no, you cannot change what appears in that list. The hide facility only applies to the forums area of the site.
(Most people viewing the site use the Recent Activity page as their go-to reference for what is happening in the forums.)

Do you mean just the challenges, if which there are only 3 a week or the competitions as well .... which are daily?
EPZ has become largely a competitions/challenges (+reviews) website. Very different from years ago.
Why would anyone need to hide the challenges panel?
We can all stick in our rut, a challenge helps us improve even if we only look at the posts without joining in.
