HS50 mode problem
I have had my HS50 EXR for nearly 18 months and I think it is a great little camera. Just recently I have had a strange intermitant fault. The modes change from A to M to exr and more, in quick succession for no apparent reason. Sometimes I am not even touching the camera when it starts bleeping away and the screen changes the mode at random until I turn the camara off. It is most odd. The mode dial is not being moved while this happens. I rarely change the mode from "A" normally. I am assuming that this a fault with the camera and my be caused by bad contact. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, and how it was resolved.
Try doing this:
- Get the battery out of camera and leave the camera without power for a couple of days;
- Clean the battery contacts by gently wiping them with a cotton swab lightly soaked in spirits before inserting it back.
If after that the problem does not disappear - the camera goes to service. Hopefully it is still on warranty.
