I was in Sainsburys this evening and had my usual look on the magazine shelf. I spotted a new magazine with an impactful cover. When I went to pick it up I was caught out by the thickness - almost the size of Yellow Pages. I instantly thought expensive cover price, but no it was just 4. And it's a high quality gloss mag. I had a quick flick through and saw hundreds of really high quality photos....minimal words. The cover taster said "for the culturally and visually hungry". I placed it in the trolley.

When I got home and began to work through Hunger and saw it was created by Rankin! What a treat. Not only is much of the photography his but he interviews actors, artists, musicians and photographers. It's full of interviews and having enjoyed the couple I've read so far I can see I'm going to be reading this for weeks to get through the 512 pages. Yes 512 pages...it's like BJP on steroids.

A real refreshing change, and no adverts, so god knows how he's managing to produce it.
Check it out. If you enjoy fashion photography you'll love it. Loads of inspiration

Just be careful with your pronunciation when you recommend it to others. Remember it's a Rankin mag.

Another magazine worth keeping a look out for.

It has epz member Kris Dutson's National award winning image plus many more.

By the way... that is Kris receiving his award from HRH The Prince of Wales.

Thanks for the heads up Pete.

I believe that he is presenting a programme on BBC4 tomorrow at 9.0pm 'America in pictures - the story of Life magazine'. Could be interesting.

So now I have to decide whether go to into town and try WH Smiths or go round to the local smallish Sainsburys and see if they have it there. Both are in opposite directions so can't do both in a lunchbreak!
