From what I've read, 'equivalents' vary greatly in their equivalency. Some are very good and others can give as little as half as much as a manufacturer's battery.

No, my Canon 3rd party batteries are fine, lots of 3rd party stuff is good, I only hate it when I buy something cheap and it turns out there was a reason for it Wink

Just had a mild panic session. Sad

I usually keep my Sony A100 on auto as it's handy for the odd grab shot, saves faffing around with settings.

Just now I saw an unusual bird in the garden, grabbed camera whacked on the 300 zoom, and fired off half a dozen shots.

When I checked the shots on the LCD all I had was a completely white screen.

Panic mode set in, horrible visions of total camera failure, have already got a problem with the remote socket not working, and the airshow is next week (Vulcan).

It turns out that the camera was on manual 1/5sec @f8, ISO 800, and it's brilliant sunshine outside, DoH, hence 'slight' overexposure. Sad

I had been using those settings for taking bat photos at night and forgot to reset to auto.

Whew! Breathes sigh of relief.

I think I need to invest in a new camera, just in case.

I once counted around 70 signs inc 40mph repeater signs, on a local 3 mile strech of road, and that was only going one way, so there's probably as many coming t'other way as well.

In Edinburgh they have set ups designed to cause an accident. At a major crossroad with traffic lights there is a filter lane with a traffic light for traffic going left. So far so good, but, 5 yards beyond the filter light is a white line and a Give Way sign.

Upon seeing the green light motorists think it OK to go, not noticing the Give Way sign just behind it, as traffic can be coming from the right. Nearly caught me out.

If coming north on the A1, if you are turning left on to Milton Road for City Centre, beware.

Theres a really odd roundabout near me in billingham , in fact its square and has only one entrance and one exit , sort of a road with a silly chicance built into it , if approaching from the A19 be wary ...
