I need to calibrate my laptop's monitor!

No, I mean use the Spyder hardware on the monitor, but just click "no" to any questions the software asks you about having any control over brightness, contrast or RGB controls. This way, the software will change your GPU settings automatically.

This is the way to do it on a laptop LCD.

On a CRT, you have much more controls, and therefore you can manually adjust them when the calibration software asks you for it.
