Image background removal tool?

Hello,
Software developer here who recently got interested in photography. How'z everyone doing?
I am curious to see what tools you are using for image background removal? I came across one from Adobe and one from other company, but could not find easily that gives me API access to remove background at mass scale. I have started coding the tool as a fun side project.
Curious to see what you got and how much you are paying for it.
Cheers and Happy Photographing!

It is more commonly seen as extracting a foreground object to place on a different background. The best tool I have used is Topaz Mask AI. With this you can cut out hair or even semi-transparent object like veils. For a simple cut out Adobe PS Select>Subject can be useful.
You will have to look at the Topaz site for their price but I have almost all the Topaz Modules and bought a bundle quite early during a special offer with a further discount so I consider them to be good value. I am not interested in changing skies; it was something I occasionally did many years ago when cameras had low dynamic range but recent cameras are fine and I can capture multiple exposures if in doubt. I would not consider using a computer generated or stored sky.

I don't use such a thing, but was looking for identity photos and there is a company that does them from your own shots. One of their 'demo prints' shows a comparison with the original where the wall and part of the picture frame behind the head had been replaced with the required plain background. I've no idea what software they use. https://passport-photo.online/fr-fr - just scroll down the page...

Interesting - when I working in retail photo software, I developed automatic passport machines but in most countries there were very stringent rules about not digitally altering a photo in any way.
