Hey there everyone, I am in quandary I have sold my old lights and I am now looking to buy new studio lights.
The problem is this with the budget I have 800 I can get a 3 head d-lit4 kit or interfit stellar 3 head kit.
I have read the review on here for the d-lite 4, the main problem with it is plastic feel to it. With the interfit stellar it is a metal frame and fan cooled.
Also the bowens is just way out of my price range so I will not even look at them for now anyway.
So my Question is does anyone have either the interfit stellar or the new d-lite 4 studio lights and which if any do you prefer.
To help you with the equipment I have already a new Canon 30d with 2 sigma lenses and radio trigger so now worries about the voltage problems.

I was just about to buy the d-lite2 kit but you've made me realise I could get the 300w stellar kit for about the same money.

Like you I have no idea which is best and will be watching other answers to this thread.

The only thing I can see is the Stellars look like top of the range from a cheaper brand where as the d-lite2 is entry level from a better brand?

the Stellars have got to be the way to go no?

In Digital Photo Mag this month they tested the:

Bowens Gemini 490

Elinchrom D-lite 2 430

Interfit EX 150 200

Interfit Venus 300 480

Ist was Interfit EX150, then Bowens, although I think it was the price of the Interfit that swung it as the Bowens has all the stars...apart from value for money..

Does the mag have a website Cathy? Or what is the exact title of the Mag?

typing digital photo mag into google didn;t get me much.

I went out and got the stella 300 kit about a year ago, find it very good value and no problems. The D- lights were not about then, but keiths right.

So Keith does that NO mean I should get the d-lite4 or the stellars?

I think that Keith's no was an answer to this. i.e. go with the D-Lites to get into the Elinchrom brand.

One of the paramount features of a flash system and one often missed in reviews is that it is able to deliver the same amount of light at a given over repeated firings - the Elinchromes will do that, even the D Lites

The D-lites have also got the benefit of an easy upgrade...

Well, for one person at least (and unless I get my backside in gear it won't be me)
