When you say it isn't responding do you mean it won't let you type anything in or it can't find any pages?

You shouldn't have to open any pages. Just click on Tools in the menu bar at the top.

I've had problems with 8 myself. I've read a lot of stuff about how add-ons and stuff like that conflict with it somehow. I only use it now to prove the appearance of web stuff in multiple browsers.

I have a sneaky feeling IE8 has been honed for Windows 7, Because for the first time in many years, Microsoft are releasing a new operating system ( Win 7 ) that has no web browser as standard, This applies to European versions only ( as far as I'm aware )..!!!

Anyhow its something to do with the EU, Poking thier snouts into Microsofts business as usual, So Bill & the boys, Had to remove IE8 from the OS....Sad

Anyone thinking of going Win 7, Should make sure to download a copy of Internet Explorer 8, Or other third party web browser, Prior to installing the OS.

The euro courts have had their little bottys slapped and stopped from carrying out their unfair practices and now Win7 will ship with Internet explorer.

I think it's because it was pointed out to them that if the forces MS to ship win7 without a web browser they would have to do the same with apple and linux.
