i noticed on here that fuji film is reviving its velva 50 film, and i read an article in one of the better newspapers that people are getting a little fed up with all the new d slr and point and shoot coming out almost every month, also having seen a website that would process a colour film for 99p and you even get a free film back!!!
i think it would make me think about going back to film!!!

I for one miss the 'discipline' of using film and take a 35mm film body out with me now.

Oh I'd say announcing a comeback might be a little premature Smile

Velvia does have a huge following (so much so I believe there are digital thingies to mimic it), and there have been a few posts on here about digital users who've begun trying film for the first time... no doubt CB will be along shortly to tell us that it's but the twitching of the corpse...

I've not been away.. Still got a few rolls of Velvia 50 in the fridge and intend to save at least one roll to compare with the new version.
Originally this was due end May / beginning June so I hope it does not get put back again

I don't think I'll switch back from a DSLR to a 35mm slr, but neither am I likely to stop the occasional MF/LF film use, or the odd bit of 35mm RF.
Have to sort out some sort of blind system for the bathroom now, so I can do some larg-er format.
(The daylight tank only goes up to 5x4)
So on average, no change, but film ain't really gone either.
Just wish there was more time to play.

I had a dark moment yesterday after I saw the K100D offer... had to go for a long walk and think of all the other cameras I could buy with 300.

Everyone has their price dammit

For all you Velvia 50 fans, it's shortdated but it's also cheap!

I KNEW IT! You're a tart same as the rest of us Smile

I dunno if film is making a comeback or not. I doubt new digitals coming out left right and centre is going to stop anybody buying one.

Oooooh ! I do hope it gets going again, Even if it's a natty kinda retro approach Smile As I have several mint Nikon SlR bodies, Just waiting for the day thier value gets back to sumfin sensible, Mind you even if that happened I don't think I could bring myself topart with them.

Not sure about this Velvia revival, I'm not into oversaturation as a rule, But bring on the HP4 now yer talkin Smile
