Morning all,

I have recently purchased one of these tripods for use on my travels abroad as compared to my 055XPROB and head it is very light, and after discounts i managed to get it for around £80.

My question si does anybody else have one and if so how do you release the "quick release" plate. I can see there are a couple of what would look to be release screws on the side, but i can only turn these a little bit and when i do it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any help you could give would be much appreciated as i'm off on my travels next week.

Thanks

Warren,

I've had one of these for a few months. I get on well with it, BUT ...

First thing I did was to get rid of the supplied head and replave it with a Manfrotto 486R2 (I think) medium ball head.

For me, its a good compromise to take on hill walks - nice and light but sturdy, and clips easily onto the side of a rucksack.

Surely a call to Jessops would be a good place to start

Just looked at a pic of one. I would expect you rotate the screw on the side and then is there another button on the front/back to press and the plate should then slide off. If there isn't a button you will either pull/push the lock you undid to release the plate.
