JPEG quality on Reader Gallery

On recently posted images to the reader gallery, it appears on my screen as if the quality has reduced dramatically. All JPEGS appear horribly dithered. If I look at JPEGs from other websites, they seem fine, so I am presuming it is not a problem with my computer. Has anyone else noticed this?

Make sure your file size is below the 60k limit when you save for web.
It can be very dificult trying to squeeze a shot with lots of detail down to such a small size without a noticeable loss in quality.

I had that yesterday - I compressed a shot (the latest in my portfolio) and it looked fine, uploaded it and it looked as though I'd compressed it to about 1k, it was terrible and I had to upload it 3 times, the 3rd time it worked,

I'm not just getting this for my own images; it seems to be the case for virtually all images that have been uploaded in the last 24 hours... mind you that probably means everyone else is getting the same problem as you and I, Wotashot.

How did you manage this, Jamie? Uploads are restricted to two efforts per day!
