Hi All,

How are you coping with the lockdown? I hope you're all staying safe and well.

Last week we had a garden bird challenge, this week I thought we could go for something a little less flighty to capture - the flowers in your garden or on your local walk.

For most of us here in the UK spring has well and truly sprung and our gardens are now full of blooms and blossom. I've got quite a few examples in mine, from an ornamental cherry to bleeding heart and narcissi peeking through my hydrangea bush (I was a little careless with the bulb planting - oops!)

Show us what you've got over the Easter weekend, and I hope that you can all enjoy the bank holiday, even if we can't get out much!

Our Amalanchier lamarkii has been through the lovely cycle of fresh new blooms and is now in its "snowy mesophilus" phase where the petals drop like snowflakes in the wind. Its one of my favourite Spring plants in our garden

Another gem has been our weeping crab apple which after a few years has finally established itself, blooming beautifully and promising a great stock of berries for the winter birds

Front and rear gardens are both beginning to show well too

just waiting on our Californian Poppies to break into bloom as that provides a carpet of flaming orange to really bring it to life

The best thing of all is that our garden is designed to look after itself, so since it was designed and built 22+ years ago its never been dug, fertilised or had any chemicals applied and neither front of back have been watered by us for over 15 years, my kind of lazy gardening Smile

I'm busy decorating my kitchen top to bottom - ie. painting everything, walls, units, ripping up lino - lots to keep me occupied as I'm definitely off work until the end of the month at least. Happily it gives me time to mooch round my dinky garden and I was pleased to find one single flower on a standard Magnolia I'd bought last year.
